St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School started using CENTURY in early 2018. Since implementing CENTURY, teachers at St Joseph’s have more time to make targeted interventions with their students, who login for at least an hour per week. Assistant Headteacher and SENCO, Jo McDonagh, spoke to us about how they use CENTURY.
Does CENTURY save you time at St Josephs?
CENTURY allows our teachers focused intervention time, which enables teachers to give one to one feedback; small group feedback; identifying areas of misconception quickly and ensuring that all the needs of our pupils are met.
How do you use CENTURY at St Josephs?
CENTURY is timetabled in key stage two to be used one afternoon a week for one and half hours. This time is a focused intervention time and runs in conjunction with our outdoor learning curriculum.
Upper key stage two also timetable CENTURY to be used for at least one session a week during English and mathematic lessons.
Which year groups use CENTURY the most?
From Year Three to Year Six: All children in key stage two use CENTURY at least once a week.
Do you use CENTURY for English?
At the moment we use CENTURY for SPAG and mathematics.
