“Schools often treat Prevent as a one-off training need but this straightforward and easy-to-navigate resource gives us exactly what we need for ongoing training so we can keep revisiting the issue to ensure policy is embedded into daily practice. It’s great for all-staff training but also ideal to help governors and leaders to understand their responsibilities and to plan further training. Unlike other resources, ‘Counter-Extremism: Preventing Radicalisation in Schools’ gives you first-hand accounts from the key stakeholders – vulnerable pupils, safeguarding leads and Prevent experts, with insights to encourage reflective practice by our staff. That has given us the confidence that we are really prepared to support our children, keep them safe and keep them in school learning and preparing for a bright future. The resource is open access and free but many schools would pay good money for this kind of training. We have used the real-life case study videos for all staff to watch before our Wednesday safeguarding scenario sessions and the honest and unique insights have been invaluable alongside the discussion points and top tips.”
